Before you buy a new tennis bag, you should think about how big it should be and what purpose it should fulfill. Should it be a classic racket bag, a universal sports bag or a practical compact tennis backpack?
Racket bags
Racket bags are available in different sizes: 3, 6, 9, 12 or 15. The numbers indicate the maximum number of tennis rackets that can fit in the bag. When choosing the size, however, you should bear in mind that there should be enough space in the bag for tennis balls, clothing, shoes, accessories, water bottles and more in addition to your rackets.
In order to be able to carry large racket bags comfortably, they usually have a carrying handle and padded shoulder straps as well as a backpack function on some models, which makes carrying them even easier. Racket bags are often made from a sturdy material so that the bag retains its shape. There is usually a thermally insulated compartment in which the tennis rackets are protected from the heat and cold. Many tennis bags are also equipped with a separate, often ventilated shoe compartment. If there is no shoe compartment in the tennis bag, you can alternatively transport your tennis shoes in a shoe bag.
Tennis backpacks
A tennis backpack is practical if you are traveling on foot or by bike and don't need more than two tennis rackets. In addition to tennis rackets and tennis shoes, most backpacks offer enough space for other equipment such as tennis balls, tennis clothing or a towel.
Sports bags
As an alternative to the racket bag, you can also opt for a sports bag as an alternative to a racket bag. Here you also have plenty of space for tennis rackets, tennis clothing, shoes, accessories and whatever else you need on the tennis court. How much equipment you can store depends on the model and size. A sports bag also has the advantage that you can use it for other sporting activities and when traveling.
